The Walking Dead TV Series 2 Action Figures

AMC and McFarlane Toys have lined up again to take money that I happily throw at them. This time they bring us The Walking Dead TV Series 2 Action Figures. I was a little confused when I read that because as you may know there is already a Series 2. Huh? I guess they forgot to send me the memo. Now they have changed the name by adding “TV” in there. So now we have TV Series 1 and what I’ll be showing you today, which is TV Series 2. The comic series is Comic Series 1 and the entire line had been cancelled so if you’re a collector I’d snatch those up ASAP. All of the figures in TV Series 2 are available for pre-order and will be available in October 2012.

Just a warning, these pics are pretty bad and I don’t think they reflect the actual figures accurately. Don’t blame me, blame McFarlane Toys. Ok, show me the figs!

RV Zombie

You will no doubt recognize this guy from the nail-biting scene in the RV at the opening of Season 2. RV Zombie has multiple points of articulation and a flip-back head and removable screwdriver in his eye. You can stab him continuously! RV Zombie is also the face you’ll be pulling the Season 2 Limited Edition Blu-Rays out of. RV Zombie is currently available for pre-order from Entertainment Earth for $14.99.

During the opening scene of season 2, a mob of flesh-eating zombies swarm the group. Unaware of the flesh-eating zombie onslaught, Andrea becomes trapped in the recreational vehicle when one climbs aboard. Under attack from this “RV” Zombie, Andrea fights back, stabbing the zombie in the eyeball with a screwdriver. Our zombie figure simulates that scene with a flip-back head play-action and a removable screwdriver in it’s eye.

Well Zombie

Remember this scene? I bet you do. Hungry for spaghetti? You probably are you sicko! This one of those scenes that, if you’ve seen it, you’ll never be able to un-see it. Thanks Well Zombie, thanks a lot. Well Zombie is 5-inches and has 9 points of articulation but who cares about that? You can pull his body apart to reveal his sofy gooey innards! Well Zombie is available for pre-order for $14.99 from Entertainment Earth.

EE:

A rotten, bloated zombie surprise resting at the bottom of Hershel’s water well that the survivors eventually attempt to hoist out by using Glen as bait. This is, by far, one of the sickest looking zombies seen yet on the series, and our figure is one dead on, stomach-churning replica. The 5-inch action figure includes 9 points of articulation with a pull-apart play-action that reveals his soft gooey guts inside! Accessories include attached rope and canned ham.

Bicycle Girl

Here is a late comer to the The Walking Dead action figure family. Bicycle Girl is actually from Season 1 and is the first zombie Rick encounters after stumbling out of the hospital. They must have decided to include her by popular demand. Almost like she was forgotten. You can see a bit of her back story in the webisodes. She comes with a nifty little grassy base and her arm will reach for you. Bicycle Girl is available for pre-order for $14.99 from Entertainment Earth.

EE:

The maimed zombie girl shown crawling next to her bicycle in a park turned out to be one of the most iconic zombies from season 1. She is also the first zombie Deputy Rick Grimes encountered in the season 1 opener. The 5-inch tall action figure features an eerie reaching motion play-action while lying on her base. Accessories include a damaged cell phone and jeans, as seen in webisodes.

Shane

Everyone’s favorite best bud, Shane. With best friends like Shane, who sleep with your wife then try to kill you then turn into a zombie and tries to kill you, who needs enemies. This has to be a REALLY bad photo of this figure because this looks nothing like Shane. This is Shane’s first figure from either series and so far he looks horrible. I’m hoping maybe we see a Zombie Shane as an exclusive. Shane has 6 points of articulation and has some gun-raising action. Shane is available for pre-order for $14.99 from Entertainment Earth.

Rick’s partner and “loyal” friend, Shane Walsh was clearly the antagonist of season two. Featuring actor Jon Bernthal’s likeness, Shane will be featured in tactical attire with a shaved head and features a gun raising play-action, ready to pick off zombies with his single-barrel shotgun. Features 6 points of articulation.

Rick Grimes

This is Rick’s second figure for the TV series. This figure shall henceforth be called Pit Stains Rick. He is featured in his “civilian attire”, pit stains and all, which is how we see him most of the time in season 2. Again, I hope this is just a horrible picture because this looks nothing like Rick. It looks like the picture may just be a little smashed? Anyway, Rick has the highest number of articulation points at 14 and interchangeable hands. Rick is available for pre-order for $14.99 from Entertainment Earth.

The small-town sheriff’s turned-hero and leader of the survivors during the zombie apocalypse, Rick Grimes continues to struggle with his moral convictions in season two. Featuring actor Andrew Lincoln’s likeness, Rick is depicted in a different sculpt in his civilian attire, prevalent in season 2. The 5-inch tall action figure features interchangeable hands to hold multiple weapons, along with 14 points of articulation. Additional accessories include removable revolver, rifle with strap, and animal control stick for zombie catching.

This is the entire set for those of us who want to get ourselves the entire set plus have some extra for resale of giveaways. Hey, it’s possible one of these could catch fire like the Daryl Dixon figure that seems to be sold out everywhere except Amazon where it has at least tripled in price. If you want to make sure you get a set for yourself and some left over to “play” with than this is for you. New Prometheus Video Introduces You To ‘David’

I try to stay away from viral videos for films I’m excited to see due to the fact that they always seem to give away some plot point or hint at some twist that would have been better to discover during the film. This video which introduces us to Wyland Industries 8th generation ‘David’ may contain some *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* dialog but nothing that could give anything away. Michael Fassbender does a great cool-level-android-tone voice and looks awesome as ‘David’.

Albert Pyun’s ‘Cyborgs: Rise Of The Slingers’ Teaser Trailer

A teaser trailer for Albert Pyun’s Cyborg’s: Rise of the Slingers has dropped and there is a bit of a twist, Albert has said that this will be a prequel to his unreleased Director’s Cut of Cyborg which is quite different from the theatrical 1989 release in which he was kicked off of during editing. Check out my post that includes an interview with Director Albert Pyun, there is an email address for Pyun that you can use to request your own copy of the Director’s Cut.

The teaser wasn’t what I expected but at the same time it was. It covers the basics of what went down, December 21, 2012, Flesh Eaters created by a virus, and Fender who is represented in the poster below. I just have to remind myself that it’s doing exactly what it’s meant to do, tease. Don’t get me wrong I’m very excited for this movie but hopefully as production continues we see the quality bar raised.

Yesterday I posted about Albert Pyun beginning shooting on his prequel to Cyborg titled Cyborgs: Rise of the Slingers. It seems he’s moving at a pretty brisk pace with some test compositions from the film.

First TEST Comp from yesterday’s shoot in Las Vegas by Artifex in Montreal. Just a test comp and NOT final at all. That’s what Atlanta looks like after the apocalypse in CYBORGS: RISE OF THE SLINGERS.

These are tests and obviously not finished compositions but I’m liking what I see. I’m pretty excited about the prequel which will tie in more to his Director’s Cut of the film than the Cyborg we all know and love. Slingers are made up of ex-special op soldiers who-after the apocalypse, become guns for hire, mostly adhering to an unwritten code of honor. The film is how they gather – one side for good and one, led by Fender, for evil. They share a dark secret about who and what they really are and why they are driven to form these two orders of warriors.

Some, like Paige, idolized the Slingers and wants to become part of their order to protect the weak and defenseless after the apocalypse. Some are stranded in America during this collapse like a young French Military Officer stationed at the French Consulate in Atlanta. Hmm…wonder who this character is.

Those of you who saw my Cyborg Director’s Cut will understand the framework and story threads. Much of what is in the Director’s Cut will be established in CYBORGS: RISE OF THE SLINGER. Like why there are no longer guns in the future, etc. This sets up the whole basis for where the characters came from and how they became who they are. Really pretty epic storyline with lots of characters.

Albert Pyun’s Cyborgs: Rise Of The Slingers Begins Shooting

According to Albert Pyun Movies Facebook page, filming has begun on the prequel to the 1989 cult classic Cyborg starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Looks like the title has also changed to Cyborg(s), plural. Here’s what they said:

We brgin shooting CYBORGS: Rise of the Slingers today! At long last. This is just the early vefx work before assembling the star cast for the full run. The Cyborg title design is by Artifex in Montreal.

Details have been slow and the casting still seems to be up in the air. According to the films IMDb page most of the casting is still “rumored”. This title design is way generic and all too familiar.

Michael Bay Wants You To Give His Ninja Turltes ‘A Chance’

The Internet is set to implode with Nerd Rage any day now due to the fact Michael Bay has once again started fiddling with the childhood memories of millions of people, myself being one. From the news that the Turtles were going to be “alien” to the changing of the title to a simple “Ninja Turtles” Mikey Bay has been at the forefront of this wave of anger towards him and this remake. Every step of the way Bay has been telling fans of TMNT to “chill” at an attempt to take the rage down a notch. His latest statement, straight from his forum, seems to tell us everything we would want to hear.

Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE’S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.

Do you trust them? Are you willing to “give them chance”? I for one don’t agree with some of the changing but I remind myself that that is just my fan boy whispering in my ear. (creepy) I also remind myself that’s it nice to see this franchise get some attention. Although Michael Bay my not be your top choice for Producer it is nice to know that he has truck loads of cash at his disposal.

‘Total Recall’ Teaser Trailer For Real This Time

ComingSoon.net has posted a REAL teaser trailer for Columbia Pictures upcoming Total Recall remake. You all know how I feel about remakes and this remake is no different but as I watch the teaser I keep catching myself saying “ooh” and “awww”. I have to say it doesn’t look half bad. Now if only they would digitally replace Colin Farrell.

Moviegoers will begin their Recall experience on Sunday, April 1, as Columbia Pictures debuts the trailer for the highly anticipated action thriller Total Recall during the NBA game between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat broadcast nationally on ABC, it was announced today by Marc Weinstock, president of Worldwide Marketing for Sony Pictures. Total Recall will be released in theaters nationwide on August 3, 2012.

The world premiere of the Total Recall trailer will air during the first half of the game and will be promoted with tune-ins in the week leading up to the game.

Following the trailer’s premiere on ABC, a special extended trailer will debut online at www.apple.com/trailers.

The trailer will also launch simultaneously in over 30 countries on broadcast and online outlets.

With The Walking Dead Season 2 just ending, most of us itching to get our hands on the series DVD’s. Well, check this bad boy out! This set looks almost as good as the prosthetics used on the show. It’s a must have for any fan of The Walking Dead.You may remember a little controversy earlier this month when this set was announced. One of the features listed was Shanes Last Episode, no big deal except that episode hadn’t aired yet. Oops. You can pre-order this beauty right now from Amazon.
